Atlas

I now hold the entire world within my arms;

A gift for a creature devoid of charms,

An honour I never earned nor deserve -

A great purpose in life, a role to serve.

Never strong I have been, and never brave,

No features that redeem, no soul to save.

A life spent wasted on fruitless passtimes;

Writing empty songs and making bad rhymes,

But my life truly began when I first held

The one who would be the entire world.

So now proudly I stand with head held high,

My feet on the ground, my face to the sky,

Prideful, and happy, and honoured, and glad.

Invincible, for the world calls me “dad”.
